Tricolor in combination with texel
I currently have just 1.4 (one males and 4 females) texel mice and only 3 of them are tricolor, so I don't have many of those left. In 2012 I started breeding tricolor texel and this line grew very big and was very easy to keep running, but in 2014 I had to make some choices as I wanted to have more normal tricolors to get a better chance of getting the normal ones standarized, so I sold most of my texels.
At the moment I try to enlarge the line again to stabelize the line and get on with this cute looking fluffy mice.
Texel is a combination of astrex and longhair. Astrex is a dominant gene that causes the curles on the mouse and longhair is just what it says. Together it causes the funny effect of a long curly coat, unfortunately when the mouse ages the curles get less. The curles can sometimes be hardly noticeable, so I try to breed better curles. Also the longhairs can sometimes have quite short hair for being "longhair", so I also select the ones with good long hairs to breed with.
