Tricolor in combination with longhair
Longhair tricolors can have any color it is just the hairtype that make them longhair. The hairs are noticeably longer that a shorthair mouse, but the length does variate. sometimes they are just a bit longer then the normal ones, and sometimes the hair is so long it touches the ground and you sometimes have to remove so dirt from their coat.
Longhair it a recessive gene, so breeding longhair with longhair will give you more longhairs and this combination will also improve the length of the hairs in time.
I have had longhairs for quite a long time, my first longhairs I got in 2011, but these were not tricolor but in different colors like chocolate and black tans and broken. In a few months I have bred the longhair into my tricolor lines and in 2012 I had a stable longhair tricolor line. Unfortunately allong with the texels I had to choose to keep more shorthair normal tricolors and because of that I haven't got many longhairs in the mousery left. But I am also trying to enlarge this line again to have again a stable line of longhair tricolors.
