How it began...
In 2009 I finaly got permission to get myself a snake as a pet, I wanted one for years! So I was very excited to finaly get one...
Once I found my ultimate new pet, a taiwanese ratsnake, I had to buy mice, so I bought several white mice. In a few weeks the mice were gone and I had to buy new mice... And one day when I needed new mice, my usual mice breeder wasn't home, so I searched for other mice in local pet stores. At the end of that day I ended up with two very cute mice, a chocolate pied female and a black tan pied female (with a mask), I named them Carly and Bandita... And off course, now they had a name, I was too attached to feed them to my snake!
So the next day I went to my usual mouse breeder again to buy new feeder mice, and this time I had permission to buy a male and a few females, so I wouln't have to keep buying new mice! At the end of 2009, my first litter of little mice was born... And oh my god! They were soooo cute!
The first few litters were just those little whites, but I also wanted babies from my pet mice, so it didn't take long till I had a white male with my pet mice and now there were born more collored babies, and more mice I couldn't feed...
Show mice....
After a few months of breeding with my little pets I came across an advert on marktplaats from someon who had about 30 mice to sell, there wasn't a picture and as I had almost no normale white mice anymore, I decided to pick those mice up and feed those mice.
Well... "Unfortunately" they weren't feeder mice! The mice were almost all beautiful big splashed mice, with big ears and everything! How I was in love! I felt like a kid in a candystore.... I wanted to pick all those mice up as fast as possible before the seller changed his mind! And when I was back home I started searching the internet about what these beauty's were and everyting!
Tricolors, my first and oldest line...
Maybe it isn't so hard to know how I ended up with my first tricolors as I had splashed and broken mice at home... As curious as I was as a "child'' I mated the splashed line with my broken lines and soon came rolling out the first tricolors. I was amazed, they were so nice!
At this point I was also beginning to read about breading, colors, contacting other breeder and everything to know more and more. I learned that pet store mice weren't the best to breed with, and faults I made... But also how to improve the lines and I met other excited breeders and at that point I really started to see myself as a breeder, I wanted to improve these mice, make them better, healthier and more beautifull! At this point my first line was really starting, my first and oldest line, tricolor!
Where did Mousery "Suku" come from?
As I had learned so much the last months and got to know so many breeders with a "Mousery", in 2010 also wanted to make it official and have a name for my "Mousery". And it wasn't a very hard thought, my usernames have always been "Soekoe", because our family dog's name is Suku and in Dutch pronounced as Soekoe, and so I also named my Mousery after our dog Suku, and the name Mousery Suku was born!
Mousery Suku, 2010 - now.
